ORIGINAL Ceramic Sculptural Vessel
Description
I am drawn to the multiple versions we hide inside. There is a self we revel and one we protect, keep inside. Two faces, one person.
This Sculptural Vessel explores the multiplicity through illustrated components, and a removable head. The head is part of the larger self, not decorative but another identity , possibly a mask.
This one-of-a-kind ceramic sculpture brings together expressive illustration, playful form, and unexpected details. A softly rounded vessel becomes the canvas for a wistful, hand-drawn face, framed by delicate black markings, pale peachy yellow, and subtle washes coral.
Resting above is a removable sculptural head, its porcelain-like face adorned with rosy cheeks, delicate features, and a textured woodland horns. Dual illustrated faces adorn the vessel, while touches of lustrous gold add a little unexpected magic.
Turn the piece around to discover another world of painterly markings, flowing black lines, and intricate surface textures. Every tiny dot made by hand, one by one.
There is something both tender and peculiar about this series, part art vessel, part character, part imagined story.
Created slowly and intuitively in the Cromeola studio, this original ceramic artwork celebrates the beauty of imperfection, unusual personalities, and the pleasure of discovering something unexpected.
